National Summit on Informed Investor- An Asset to Corporate India was organized

The national Summit on Informed Investor- An asset to Corporate India was conducted by Assocham at Hotel Lalit Ashok, Bangalore on July 16, 2010. Hon’ble Union Minister for Corporate Affairs, Mr.Salman Khurshid was the chief Guest. The summit was organized to educate investors to maximize returns on one’s savings and also to be able to generate cash flows for meeting several financial needs of the future.
In his speech Mr. Raheja, Chairman of Real Estate Committee Assocham said that investor awareness is essential both from the perspective of promoting confidence in the market and also in achieving the public policy objectives of Governments who are seeking to encourage individuals to save more widely during their working life in order to provide for their retirement. He also stressed that one must, however, invest with knowledge and full care in order to not only protect one’s hard-earned capital but also generate good returns. Mr. Raheja highlighted that most problems occur due to lack of awareness of investors or companies hiding some information in order to woo investors. Therefore, it is essential that an investor is well informed of his or her rights and risks associated with the investment decisions. He assured the Government that he through Assocham along with all the other dignitaries who participated in the summit would make investor awareness a mass movement in the country and make investor empowerment a reality.
Apart from him the other eminent speakers who spoke on the subject at the Conference included Mr. R. Bandyopadhyay, Secretary, Ministry of Corporate affairs, GOI, Mr.N.S.Srinivasa Murthy, President, FKCCI . Finally, the conference was concluded with a vote of thanks from Mr. D.S.Rawat, Secretary General, Assocham.
